Shannon Jackson

Associate Vice Chancellor, Arts and Design

Jackson was appointed as UC Berkeley’s first associate vice chancellor for the Arts and Design Initiative in 2015. Jackson holds the Cyrus and Michelle Hadidi Chair in the Humanities and is a professor of rhetoric as well as theater, dance and performance studies. She has written widely on the role of the arts in social institutions and in social change. Her numerous awards include a Guggenheim Fellowship and a Heston Award for Outstanding Scholarship in Performance Studies.

Julia Bryan-Wilson

Associate Professor, Art History and Modern and Contemporary Art

Professor Bryan-Wilson teaches the study of modern and contemporary art at UC Berkeley. She is the author of Art Workers: Radical Practice in the Vietnam War Era and editor of OCTOBER Files: Robert Morris. Bryan-Wilson was awarded a Creative Capital/Andy Warhol Foundation Arts Writers Grant and has won numerous awards for her teaching.

Edmund Campion

Professor, Music; Co-Director, Center for New Music and Audiotechnologies

Professor Campion’s recent projects include a Fromm Foundation commission for Outside Music, written for the San Francisco Contemporary Music Players, and a French Ministry of Culture Commande d’etat for Ondoyants et Divers. Campion has won prestigious awards and fellowships, including a Rome Prize and the Paul Fromm Award at Tanglewood.
